Umpires Corner

Mike McKay UIC BiO

Meet our new Umpire in Chief (UIC), Mike McKay. Mike began umping at a young age. He knows he’s way around a ball field, being old enough to have played and umpired at Pioneer Park, and now at Evans Field. After a hiatus from behind the plate, Mike returns with banana clicker in hand to help develop future generations of umpires at DJBA. Mike is always willing to help out, and further his knowledge of the game. Most recently you can find him listening to umpire podcasts in the off season. Mike’s always looking to recruit more umpires, young and old. Feel free to reach out and join the third team. And may all his pitches be strikes.
